Summer pergola

This oil painting on board is 18 x 18 cm. I was painting at a little homey garden centre near were l live. I was so struck by the beautiful lilacs and trailing clematis as it was falling through the latticework.

And the light at the end of the garden reminded of me of heaven. The flower colours were rich and beautiful and kept twinkling and moving as I was watching and painting them, the perfume in the air was exotic and heavy.
